Ascendo Resources is actively seeking a Payroll Administrator for an immediate, full-time, hybrid position.

Our client, a reputable non-profit organization located in New York City, NY 10018.

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for full-cycle payroll processing for 400 employees, managing four payroll groups, including hourly, salaried, exempt, and non-exempt employees. This role involves executing payroll entries, handling tax contributions and deductions, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for career growth, with a fast track to becoming a Payroll Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience with Ceridian Dayforce, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle full-cycle payroll.

Pay Rate: $35/hr - $38/hr

Salary: $70K - $72K max

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri (35 hr per week) (9am - 5pm) (3days onsite ; 2 days wfh)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure payroll compliance and controls with all local, state, and federal laws
  • Administer the process of the bi-weekly & weekly union and non-union payroll, consisting of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, 3PSP, and terminations, etc. Ensure it is accurate and timely
  • Enter various voluntary deductions i.e., Transit, 401K, medical benefits; input and calculate timesheets, gross ups, salary, retro, advances, PTO, FSA, etc.
  • Review timesheets, work charts, wage computation, deductions, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
  • Verify hours worked, and pay adjustments; post the information into the payroll system
  • Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts and submit them to appropriate departments
  • Conduct payroll pre-transmission review and reconciliation of payroll
  • Liaise with auditors and assist supervisor with internal/external payroll and tax audits
  • Work closely with Human Resources to facilitate and ensure accurate data entry of benefits, address, pay, and other payroll changes into the Ceridian Dayforce system
  • Actively participate in payroll system projects and upgrades
  • Analyze, resolve, and answer complex and difficult problems
  • Respond to federal, state, and local agency requests for wage information

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience is highly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
